Expo 2020 Dubai is giving UAE university students the chance to help shape the future by supporting creative solutions to global challenges that affect our region
At Expo 2020 Dubai, we believe innovation can come from anywhere to everyone, which is why our global social impact programme Expo Live is giving UAE university students an opportunity to shape the future.
The second cycle of Expo Live’s University Innovation Programme is now open, and calling on young innovators to develop creative solutions to global challenges that affect our region.
We want to hear from UAE-based student teams with ideas or prototypes that could help improve lives, preserve the environment, or both.
Successful teams will each receive a grant worth between AED 25,000 and AED 50,000 to help take their idea to the next level. Expo Live will also work with universities to offer guidance and exposure for projects.
Students may even get the chance to showcase their projects to millions of people from around the world at Expo 2020 Dubai.
The first cycle of the University Innovation Programme, which launched in September 2017, received more than 1,000 applicants from 280 student teams across the UAE. Nineteen teams were awarded grants and support to bring their solutions to life.
Teams in the second cycle have until 15 October, 2018 to submit ideas. Proposed projects should align with one of Expo 2020’s three key subthemes: Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability.
