Quiz
During the competition, the participants could play their best sport and rack their brain in a quiz as well. They could also experience life in the city and feel the pulse of the city through the competition. The task setting is closely linked to the hot spots of Shanghai, enabling the participants to understand and think about the city under their feet.
Taking photos with tourists in the Urban Planning Exhibition Hall
A big feature of this competition is that, in addition to completing the specified challenge tasks, each participant needed to take group photos with at least five passers-by. This is a wise way to eliminate the distance between people, increase people-to-people communication and promote harmonious social development. This is also a goal of the World Cities Day.
2018 Cross City World Tour was co-organized by Shanghai World Cities Day Coordination Center and WEM, and it was planned by PICO SPORTS. Shanghai Spiritual Civilization Construction Committee Office, Shanghai Municipal People's Government Information Office, Shanghai Municipal Urban and Rural Construction and Transportation Committee, and Shanghai Housing and Urban and Rural Construction Management Committee also worked behind them as the guiding units. Unlike traditional running competitions, the event was an occasion for both self-challenge and networking; it is also an opportunity to showcase the city's cultural heritage and achievements.
WEM was the main venue for 2018 Cross City World Tour Shanghai event.
