Having been lasting for 92 days, EXPO 2017 Astana Kazakhstan will lower its curtain soon. The BIE Day activity was held in the Expo Site one day before the closing of Expo Astana. Mr. Steen Christiansen, Chairman of the BIE Executive Committee, Dimitri, Deputy Secretary of BIE, Mr. Akhmetzhan Yessimov, Chairman of the Board of joint-stock company National Company “Astana EXPO-2017”, the exhibitors from 115 countries and 22 international organizations as well as Organizing Committee of EXPO 2017 Astana in Kazakhstan jointly attended the celebration. The art teams from Kazakhstan, China and the United Arab Emirates presented a wonderful show.

Mr. Akhmetzhan Yessimov, Chairman of the Board of JSC National Company “Astana EXPO-2017” expressed at the ceremony that contributed to the joint support of all exhibitors, Expo Astana got a big success. We commonly focused on the theme of “future energy”, and respectively put forward distinctive solutions, which would serve as a reference for the future development of human society. The successful hosting of Expo Astana has enhanced the international influence of Kazakhstan, a pearl in Central Asia.

Mr. Steen Christiansen, Chairman of the BIE Executive Committee, first extended his congratulations on the successful hosting of Expo 2017 Astana in Kazakhstan. He said in his speech, in the joint efforts of all parties, the exhibitors have a wonderful interpretation about the theme of “future energy”. World Expo is not an exposition in simple sense; it is not only the interpretation of the direction of social civilization and progress, but also then demonstration of various possibilities of future technology development. The countries enhance brand image through their exhibits, and the people acquire knowledge and wisdom from the visit.

After the ceremony, the representatives of various countries visited WEM Pavilion led by Mr. Steen Christiansen, Chairman of the BIE Executive Committee. All the representatives spoke highly of the WEM’s participation into Expo Astana to make more visitors know what World Expo is. All the representatives expressed successively that World Expo is an important platform to introduce the history of Word Expo and to inherit the spirit of World Expo. Mr. Steen Christiansen said that the WEM made a big success this time in the introduction to the history of World Expo and in the promotion of the BIE. He hoped to see more wonderful performance of the WEM at Expo 2020 Dubai.

Since the opening on June 10, Expo 2017 Astana will close tomorrow on September 10 after 92 days of exhibition. Expo Astana is being organised under the theme of “Future Energy”, with three subthemes of “Reducing CO2 Emissions”, “Living Energy Efficiency”, and “Energy for All”. So far, Expo Astana has attracted more than 3.6 million visitors. The host of Expo Astana said that the expected goal would be accomplished soon.
